Ex - Heritage Numismatic Auctions, Inc.'s "Texas Collection," January 4, 2001, Lot 4160, where it was described as follows: "1875 $10 First Charter, Fr-420, Fine+. This beautiful example is well centered and retains some crispness. There are normal signs of circulation present on each side, and the reverse is slightly discolored. The signatures are missing. Overall, the appearance is above average for the issue, and as all specialists will realize, a First Charter $10 from Texas is a major rarity in any condition. We expect spirited bidding on this note, as we doubt another will appear on the market in the near future. This bank was chartered in 1881, and was in business for fifty years until it went into receivership in 1931 during the midst of the Great Depression."
