Ex - Heritage Numismatic Auctions, Inc.'s "Texas Collection," January 4, 2001, Lot 4394, where it was described as follows: "1875 $5 First Charter, Fr-405, Fine-VF. Well centered overall, although the lower margin just enters the obverse design to the right. There is an isolated stain in the upper left corner and modest soiling across the interiors of the reverse. Both of the bank signatures are quite bold. This Tom Green County bank was chartered in 1882 and issued First Charter $5s, $10s, and $20s as well as Third Charter red seal $10s and $20s before changing its title in October, 1902. Just three notes appear in the Kelly census under the first title. From the standpoint of a Texan, the lovely First Charter note offered here could not have a more illustrious pedigree, being in the collection in William A. Philpott, Jr. before its acquisition by Harry W. Bass, Jr.

Ex: Bass Collection (Bowers and Merena, 5/99), lot 270.
Est. 8,000-12,000"
